Director of Admissions, Testing and Dual Enrollment
BARGAINING UNIT/NON-UNIT: Non-Unit
ANTICIPATED START DATE: As soon as possible.
SALARY RANGE: $90,000- $95,000, commensurate with education and experience.
OPTION TO TELEWORK: This position is eligible for remote work (1 day per week), per the Commonwealth's Telework Policy
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Director of Admissions, Testing and Dual Enrollment (DATDE) leads the College's outreach, admissions, and enrollment initiatives for new students, reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success. The DATDE oversees the operations and staff of the Admissions, Testing, and Dual Enrollment/Early College offices and collaborates extensively with departments within the Enrollment Management and Student Success division, including Student Financial Services, Academic Advising, Student Affairs, Registrar's Office, and Academic Affairs. Additionally, the Director cultivates partnerships with local high schools, homeschooling groups, area colleges, community-based organizations, and professional associations to enhance recruitment and outreach efforts.
In partnership with the Director of Marketing and Public Relations, this position develops recruitment and outreach strategies to achieve enrollment targets, and works closely with the Manager of Enrollment Analytics and CRM to optimize outreach, recruitment, and yield initiatives through data-driven approaches. The DATDE also coordinates with selective academic programs to manage specialized admission criteria and ensures compliance with international student admission requirements as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). While overseeing teams, the Director directly engages with prospective and current students to support a seamless enrollment experience.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for leading the College's recruitment planning and implementation. This includes assigning and managing recruitment strategies for all demographics of degree-seeking students, including high school dual enrollment.
- Serve as a thought partner with the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS) and other members of the EMSS Leadership Team on all aspects of recruitment, retention, and student completion. Inform college leadership on prospective student interests and other market demands for credit and noncredit programs.
- Lead the recruitment team in developing a strategic recruitment plan that includes program and demographic-specific recruitment, including participation in small, medium, and large events delivered through multiple modalities.
- Coordinate Guest Student registration process in Admissions and Enrollment Services. Work closely with the Academic Advising Center and Registrar's Office to prepare students for course registration and enrollment.
- Represent GCC, participate in, and oversee on and off-campus events
- Manage day-to-day work of the Admissions Office, including report generation, budget planning, policy and procedure review, and assessment, focusing on expanding access to marginalized populations.
- Collaborate with the marketing department and CRM manager to create communications, assess recruitment outcomes, and manage communications channels. Serve as the Slate captain for Enrollment Services.
- Supervises staff in the Admission Office, Dual Enrollment, and Testing Center. Provide leadership, training, professional development, and staff reviews per union contracts.
- Communicates with statewide agencies, such as the Department of Higher Education, and participates in the Community College Admission Directors meetings.
- Works with all areas of the College, particularly Academic Affairs, to initiate and promote outreach and recruitment activities.
- Oversees SEVIS compliance and international student enrollment and serves as PDSO for (ICE) Immigration and Customs Enforcement and SEVIS federal student tracking and governmental regulatory reports.
- Performs special projects and related responsibilities as initiated and requested by the VPEMSS.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE*:
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., College Student Personnel, Educational Leadership, Business Administration).
- Five or more years of experience in student services (e.g., Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid) with supervisory and team leadership responsibilities.
- Proven ability to develop external partnerships, facilitate presentations, and analyze and present data.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and customer service skills with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recruitment and/or Admissions experience in a community college setting.
- Proficiency with Slate CRM.
- Experience with the Ellucian Banner student information system.
- Adaptability and flexibility within a fast-paced environment
