Job Summary

The University of Michigan Department of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent Medicine is seeking a tenure-track physician scientist to join our team promoting healthy adolescent and young adult development with a particular focus on substance abuse prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. We are seeking faculty who value teamwork, evidence-based care, and who foster a culture of inclusion. 

The faculty candidate will be joining a team of board-certified adolescent medicine physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurse practitioners, nurses, and others in a relatively new division with significant growth potential. The Division currently provides outpatient consultative clinical care for adolescents with a wide variety of healthcare needs, including eating disorders, chronic illness care, depression, anxiety, substance use, and reproductive health issues. Other specific multidisciplinary programs run by the division include the University of Michigan Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program and the Gender Program. Teaching and mentoring, particularly for adolescent medicine fellows is a key component of the position.

Required Qualifications*

Candidates must be board certified / eligible in Adolescent Medicine. Additional training in Addiction Medicine and research study design, as well as a track record of funded research is preferred, particularly in the areas of substance use, adolescent development, and underserved populations. The faculty member would be expected to mentor trainees and junior faculty and serve as the research director of the division. Faculty candidates should qualify for appointment on the University of Michigan tenure track and initial appointment will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
