Job Summary
The Department of Marketing in the College of Business at Illinois State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Marketing professor position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to begin August 16, 2025. This search is open for applicants from any area of marketing. We seek highly qualified and motivated candidates to teach Marketing Strategy and Sales courses, as well as other courses to support the Department of Marketing as necessary.
The successful candidate will (1) engage in curriculum development that incorporates critical thinking and experiential learning and produces high levels of student engagement, (2) develop a scholarly record of publication in high quality journals, (3) work collaboratively as a contributing member of a faculty team, (4) have a strong interest in continuing to develop the marketing program through interaction and engagement with industry professionals, and (5) have professional marketing experience.
The Department of Marketing is positioned within the College of Business, which has undergraduate and graduate programs accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The business school is housed in the 118,000 square foot, state-of-the-art State Farm Hall of Business. The Department offers a marketing degree with sequences in General Marketing, Professional Sales, Advanced Marketing Analytics, and Integrated Marketing Communication to just under 1,000 undergraduate students. The Department offers marketing courses to a full complement of graduate students in the M.B.A. program and a new STEM-designated Master of Science in Marketing Analytics degree program, as well as an accelerated Marketing Analytics sequence and 4+1 program. The Department also offers a B.S. and M.S. in Business Education. The Department includes 31 tenured, tenure track and non-tenure track faculty (with 17 Ph.D.’s/D.B.A.’s).

Required Qualifications
Candidates for the position must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. degree in Marketing or a closely related field by the position start date from an AACSB accredited business school. A.B.D.’s will be considered. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
