Position Summary
Reporting to the CFO and Senior Vice President, the Vice President for Finance and Assistant Treasurer manages the University’s financial operations, including financial planning and analysis, accounting and financial reporting, treasury operations, cash management and financing, payroll, strategic sourcing, and accounts payable.
The Vice President leads a team of experienced finance professionals and works collaboratively with colleagues in the Provost’s Office and across the University to steward and effectively deploy resources in support of Fordham’s mission and academic priorities, in both the near- and long terms.
Essential Functions
- Supports, develops and motivates diverse, high-performing team of professionals managing the broad portfolio of the finance office
- Conceptualizes and leads multivariate financial modeling to support the development and execution of an evergreen University strategic plan, ensuring that this plan is supported and financially sustainable with the resources generated within the framework
- Collaborates with functional units to optimize University programs to ensure that they meet programmatic, mission and financial goals
- Provides treasury and banking services support to the Office of the Chief Investment Officer
- Supports board committees (Finance, Audit and Risk), by managing agendas in collaboration with respective committee chairs, ensuring all materials are prepared appropriately and in a timely manner, and trustees are engaged to provide guidance on relevant strategic and fiduciary issues
- Oversees annual audit and other internal and external financial reporting processes to ensure that they are accurate and timely

Management Responsibilities
Provides strategic leadership and supervises others who supervise. Responsible for hiring, training, developing, managing performance, administering corrective action, makes compensation decisions and for managing strategic views at a high level.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting
- 10+ years of demonstrated leadership skills as a business and financial manager, preferably within a university environment
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and data analytics
- Enterprise thinker with experience working across (and breaking down) silos
- Excellent communicator; active listener
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or CPA
Minimum Starting Salary: $375,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $475,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
