The Precision Sustainable Agriculture (PSA) network is a collaborative program that designs automated data acquisition technologies from scientific data collected in the field. The goal is to establish these technologies to serve on a nationwide scale to develop predictive, real-time sustainable models to help farmers make decisions in an ever-changing climate.
Essential Job Duties
This position will contribute to the design and manufacture of robotic systems used in precision agriculture research. It will also be primarily focus on mechanical design and manufacturing ensuring precision and functionality with some knowledge of electronics.

- Assist with the assembly of newly developed prototypes, with close attention to quality control.
- Fabricate components for new technologies.
- Must be able to work independently as well as be part of a team for hardware installations and troubleshooting any issues in the field, requiring independent problem-solving skills.
- Perform integration of electrical and mechanical systems.

Minimum Education and Experience
- BS in Engineering or related field.
- Experience within the agriculture industry.
- Experience with hand and machine tools.
- Experience with 3D printing.

Preferred Qualifications

- Engineering research experience.

Required License(s) or Certification(s)
- A valid NC Driver’s License and the ability to obtain an NC Driver’s License within 60 days of hire. License must be maintained throughout employment.
